On the 3rd day of the forum, continuing the momentum from our insightful second day, we in the Bureau of Plant Industry – Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD), and the co-organizers – International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), CGIAR (formerly the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research), and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), geared-up for the additional enriching discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions in the 4th National Biocon Forum.

Acknowledging the presence of Dr. Herminigilda A. Gabertan, Assistant Director for Research, Development, and Production Support Services, Bureau of Plant Industry. Echoing a message: “Let’s persist in our collaborative efforts to accomplish even greater outcomes as a unified team.”

And before the forumโ€™s presentation, Ms. Precerpina B. Ms. Jenina B. Cusay, Science Research Specialist I of the DA-Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards, delved into the “Philippine National Standards for Organic Biocontrol Agents,” offering valuable insights into the standards shaping the organic biocontrol landscape.

And hereโ€™s recap of the highlights from the three-day session:

The forum witnessed engaging presentations of the research and developments in biological control agents. Experts from diverse backgrounds shared their perspectives, contributing to a robust exchange of ideas and insights.

As we embark on the third day of the forum, we look forward to more enriching discussions, collaborations, and innovations that will propel the field of biological control towards a more sustainable future for agriculture.
