The Bureau of Plant Industry – Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD) will host a training for the officials from the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on October 2024, at the BPI-CPMD Malate, Manila. One of the objectives is to expose the delegates on the field, thus the BPI-CPMD must identify an FFS to conduct the said site visit.
The Bureau of Plant Industry – Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD) in coordination with the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC) in Region I, visited the LGUs of Pangasinan namely: Asingan, Binalonan, and Calasiao. With the assistance of the technical staff from the aforementioned LGUs, the team was able to validate and identify a farmer field school from Binalonan LGU for the actual site visit in October. As a gratitude to the volunteer farmer, the BPI and the RCPC will provide free biological control agents to control Fall Armyworm infestation.
