The technical staff of the Bureau of Plant Industry-Crop Pest Management Division, in collaboration with the Regional Crop Protection Center XI, conducted a comprehensive field monitoring and validation of the Mango Cecid fly and other major pests in Region XI. Their activities included visits to mango plantations in several municipalities and barangays, where discussions revealed commonalities in pesticide products, fertilizers, application methods, and Days after Flower Induction (DAFI) levels.

The field monitoring and validation efforts successfully identified pest issues, particularly concerning the Mango Cecid fly, across the area of Region XI. The findings underscore the necessity for enhanced education on pest management practices to promote sustainability and improve crop health in the region.
