Two (2) technical staff from the Crop Pest Management Division, Bureau of Plant Industry graced the 11th PAA National Congress and 2024 Philippine Agriculturists’ Summit held at Royce Hotel, Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga on July 1-5, 2024. Majority of attendees came from national and local government units, academe, DA-Regional Field Offices and attached bureaus, and representatives from the private sector.

The summit’s theme for this year focuses on “Building and Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Agri-Food Systems.” This theme is closely in line with the Department of Agriculture’s eight-point strategy to establish partnerships with farmers, fisherfolk, and the private sector to facilitate the advancement of agriculture in the Philippines across all stages of its supply chain.

The convention was strategically made up of: a) comprehensive learning skills, b) plenary sessions, c) poster-paper presentations and d) exhibits; all designed to facilitate the sharing of innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the competencies of agricultural professionals for the benefit of the agriculture industry.
Thus, the summit had truly provided the BPI-CPMD technical staff a valuable platform for collaboration and opportunities to network with other professionals in agriculture and gain insights into the most recent developments in the field.
