PLANT DIAGNOSTIC
MICROSCOPY ROOM
Image processing and identification of plant pests and diseases are done in the microscopy room to provide clear, high-quality images that can be used in the proper identification of the specimen.
Equipment:
● Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
● Inverted Fluorescent Microscope
MOLECULAR LABORATORY
Molecular and serology laboratory is where specimens of plant pest and diseases are processed for the purpose of molecular identification. A collection of techniques is used to analyze biological markers in the genome and proteome, and how their cells express their genes as proteins. In agricultural biosecurity, monitoring of crop pest and diseases, estimation of risk, and deciding what quarantine measures must be taken.
Equipment:
● Fumehood, Negative 20 Freezer, Negative 80 Freezer, PCR Machine | Electrophoresis, Centrifuge.
PLANT DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY
Specimens of plant pest and diseases are processed for the purpose of morphological identification. It also provides plant health analyses and identification of nematodes, weeds, insects, and other arthropods.
Equipment:
● Digital Microscope (Keyence)
REFERENCE COLLECTION ROOM
A reference collection room is a place where pest and diseases specimens are maintained and preserved for the purpose of study and authentication. Pest specimens in this room are properly labeled and well preserved on insect boxes, glass jars and cabinets.
Equipment:
● Digital Microscope (Leica).
● Insect Box.
● Insect Cabinets.
