Technical staff of the Bureau of Plant Industry - Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD) invited as resource speaker on Cacao Pests and Diseases and their Management during the 1st Information Caravan on Plant Nursery Accreditation and Plant Material Certification for Plant Nursery Operators last March 6-8, 2024 held at BPI Compound, Guisad Valley, Baguio City.

The Bureau of Plant Industry-National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI-NSQCS) conducted the 1st Information Caravan on Plant Nursery Accreditation and Plant Material Certification for Plant Nursery Operators held at BPI Compound,Guisad Valley, Baguio City, which was attended by different cacao growers, nurseries, associations, private farms, and even small farmers of the Cordillera Administrative Region CAR, led by the BPI-NSQCS CARChief, Ms. Catherine P. Balaoing, who enthusiastically welcomed all guests and recorded introductory comments by BPI-Assist. Director Ruel C. Gesmundo and BPI-Director Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, Ph.D., acknowledge the participants.

Topics were explored by respected speakers coming from private companies and different BPI divisions,including CPMD staff Ms. Rezie Mae C. Catamora, Science Research Specialist I, who shared her knowledge on common pests and diseases of cacao and their management.
